BOARD NOMINATIONS DUE
Dear National City Chamber of Commerce Member:
It has been my privilege this year to sit on the 2017 Board Nomination Committee for the National City Chamber of Commerce. It is with great enthusiasm that I present the membership of the National City Chamber of Commerce (NCCC) with the following slate of nominees for election to the 2017 NCCC Board of Directors. Members may submit additional nominees before October 31, 2016.

Official Nomination Rules
Voting Members- Only active, dues-paying members may vote in the nomination process.
Nomination by Petition - Additional names of candidates for directors can be nominated by petition bearing the genuine signatures of at least three (3) qualified members of the Chamber. Such petitions shall be filed within ten (10) days after the notice has been given online of the names nominated by the Nominating Committee. Additional nominations by petitions are due no later than October 31, 2016.
If no petition is filed within the designated period, the nominations shall be closed and the nominated slate of candidates shall be declared elected by the Board of Directors.
Ballot - If a legal petition shall present additional candidates, the names of all candidates shall be arranged on a ballot in alphabetical order. Instructions will be to vote for 3 candidates only, and for the one candidate for each open officer position. The President/CEO shall mail this ballot to all active members at least 15 days before the regular (month) Board meeting. The ballots shall be marked in accordance with instructions printed on the ballot and returned to the chamber office within ten (10) days. The Board of Directors shall at its regular (month) Board meeting declare the (number) candidates with the greatest number of votes elected.
Re-election- No member of the Board of Directors serving the maximum of two terms shall be eligible for re-election until after the lapse of one (1) year following his term, except as follows:
(a) This shall not apply to a Director who is elected Chairman of the Board for the coming year, even though he/she is a previously elected and retiring Director.
(b) This shall not apply to ex-officio or emeritus directors that may be appointed by the Board of Directors, as they determine to be necessary, to serve as voting directors to aid in their deliberations to serve only a one (1) year term, after which they are eligible for election to a two (2) year term.
Seating- All newly-elected Directors shall be seated at the regular first meeting of the Board of Directors in January and shall be participating members thereafter.
NCCC BOARD NOMINATION TIMELINE
· 2016 Board Nominations Schedule
o September 9 - Form Nominating Committee (at least 35 days prior to election)
o October 17 - Present Nominations to President/ CEO (at least 20 days prior to election)
o October 21 – Post Nominations online. May accept petitions within 10 days
o October 31 – Petition Filing closes. If no petitions submitted, then Nominations shall be declared elected. If Petitions are filed and are legal, then –
o November 1 – E-Mail and Mail out Board ballot (at least 15 days before regular Board Meeting)
o November 15 – Ballots due.
